A new ring and a new technique.
Exploring needlefelting with wire crochet - voila! a flower ring (and the loos end of wire will be 'incorporated').

Maybe I've got my handcrafting mojo back?
I finished off the wire crochet evening class last week (relax! there's another set coming up after Easter if you're in the Lower Mainland BC) with making wire beads and stringing them up. This (above) was just an example but I think it will soon be part of a whole necklace (something similar to this).
Ah ... inspiration!
New wire crochet kits will be appearing in my Etsy shop in the next week. Stay tuned for candy pinks (tinned copper with pink beads), ginger (copper wire with fiery beads), forget-me-not blues (silver wire with pastel blues) and the all-new imperial purples (tinned copper with a rich purples mix).
Kits will include wire, bead mix and crochet hook with step-by-step instructions (plus illustrations) and a simple wire hook clasp to complete.
So for those who cannot attend my wire crochet classes, this might just be the next best thing (or as a solution for what to get the crafty crafter in your life as gift!)
A definite one-of-a-kind project, and possibly the start of a new hobby?
Note: these are already available in my Artfire studio.

New three-strand wire crochet bracelet in the inventory.
This one is crocheted with tinned copper (for a subtle victorian silver shine) and incorporates fluorite gemchips with pink quartz tablets into the mix.
I'll be spending mine in the gift shop at Port Moody arts centre (come on down for those very last minute gifts).
Also thinking of going to see "Holmes" at the local cinema this evening. Any takers?
I will be teaching a wire crochet class at Port Moody Arts Centre starting this Wednesday. We will cover basic stitches, chain and mesh. Students will create their own bracelet and choker necklace set, plus a mesh cuff and wire beads.
The class is suitable for beginners and novices. Initial supplies will be provided.
Classes run for three Wednesdays, starting at 7pm on 3rd February, and cost $65 plus supplies. There are still a few places left - please call 604 931 2008 ext. 101 to register.
