studio thursday:pictures from an exhibition - Roots at the Scotia Creek Gallery in Whistler

Today the studio is taking a short break.
Yesterday was set up day for the Roots exhibition in Whistler.
This evening was opening night.

All of us (Pat, Vicki,Val,Urszula, Cathy, and myself) apart from Sarah were in attendance for the opening. We had some 'quiet time' before the public arrived to view the pieces in their final resting places.

The exhibition looks amazing. Just before Christmas lots of "oh crap, this is short notice" emails had been flying around and deadlines seemed to be impossible to achieve.
But ladies, we pulled off a wonderful collection in celebration of International Year of the Forest :)

works by each of the artists (including my wire dragonflies) welcome visitors to the gallery

We each have our own style, techniques, and medium. Even Urszula, the other jeweler, has completely different pieces compared to my own (though let's face it, who else is insane enough to work in wire, metal and fibre?) But our whole collection works well together, looks cohesive and flows.

Oh my!
Do visit if you're in Whistler this March (exhibition closes March 24th).
